My debut as a published Christian fiction author is finally a reality! I am thrilled my story, “Following His Plans”, is part of the anthology Charleston Light, which is a book of stories inspired by Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse in the South Carolina Lowcountry. Being a part of this anthology allowed me to work with some of the other contributing authors of my local Christian writer’s group who are striving to use their gift of storytelling to shed the light of Christ in our world.

It has taken me a while to get to this point in my writing career. We are reminded in Ecclesiastes 3:1—“For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:” NRSV-CE. During this season of my life, my purpose is to focus on writing. Though I’m currently working on a Biblical novel and a book of Scripture reflections, it will be quite a while before they are published. In the meantime, I plan to update my website regularly with more of my reflections.

I am so happy to be a contributing author to this book for several reasons, and one is that all proceeds will go to the Sanctuary of Unborn Life (SOUL), a Christian organization ministering to women in crisis pregnancy situations. Click on this link to find out more about SOUL.

We know Jesus often retreated to quiet places to pray with His Father. Prayer is a major component of our relationship with The Holy Trinity. Never confuse prayer with inactivity; it is an act of love. We are called to pray for one another, and I ask you to pray for me as I will pray for all of you. There is a special section further down the page for prayer requests, check it out! All requests are confidential. Let’s all pray for one another!

Thank you for visiting my website, and I hope you will visit often to find a place to land when you need a little encouragement

Meet Annette

Annette’s adult life began in Orlando, Florida, where she married her high school sweetheart. Her husband joined the United States Air Force four months after their wedding, and the Wiley family story took flight. While in the military, they raised three sons and enjoyed the opportunities to explore living in different cities and Germany. Their final assignment was Dayton, Ohio, where Annette’s husband retired from the military. Tired of cold winters and gloomy weather, they headed South, ending up in the city where it all began for her—Charleston, South Carolina. She still loves to drive the familiar roads that take her past the places that are part of the fabric of her childhood. Rich in history and culture, Annette enjoys exploring her native Lowcountry.

Annette’s story, “Following His Plans,” in the Charleston Light anthology, is her debut in fiction publication. She is writing a Biblical novel and a book of Scripture reflections for individuals or study groups.
